The Antiquarian Horological Society

The Antiquarian Horological Society (AHS) is a learned society formed in 1953. Deutsches Uhrenmuseum

The German Clock Museum is devoted to the history of timekeeping devices. A major focus is on clockmaking in the Black Forest, both as a cottage industry and on an industrial scale. The museum has an extensive collection of clocks and other artefacts relating to horology, not just those from the Black Forest, but also clocks and watches from around the world and spanning from prehistoric times to the present. The collection includes early cuckoo clocks from the 18th century as well as the prototypes of the modern Black Forest souvenir. The work of Robert Gerwig formed a primary basis of the museum.

The Crawford Observatory

Constructed in 1878, the Crawford Observatory remains a great asset to the UCC Campus. Funded in part by local businessman William Horatio Crawford and the Duke of Devonshire, the observatory was designed by Howard Grubb, one of the foremost scientific instrument makers of the 19th century: Grubb also designed and constructed all of the instruments and clocks for the observatory. These include an Equatorial Telescope, a Transit Circle and a Siderostatic Telescope.

Armagh Planeterium

Armagh Planetarium is the longest running planetarium in the British Isles. The planetarium was opened in 1968 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018.
